NOTICE OF PROPOSED WATER RATE INCREASE
Dear Camptonville Water Customers:
The Camptonville Water Department is requesting a rate increase to stabilize operations and maintain reliable service after several years of cost increases that have outpaced revenues.
Over the last five years, inflation has significantly increased the cost of operating the water system—including labor, materials, utilities, and routine maintenance—beyond what current water rate revenues can support. Although the district implemented a rate increase in 2023, the increase has not kept pace with ongoing rising costs.
The current commercial rate is $100/month for up to 12,000 gallons, with a 0.018 cents per gallon overage fee. The current residential rate is $65/month for up to 10,000 gallons with a 0.018 cents per gallon overage fee.
The proposed rate structure uses three usage tiers, so customers pay based on the amount of water they consume. Lower-use accounts are billed at a lower rate, while higher-volume use is charged at progressively higher rates to better reflect system costs and encourage conservation.

Adoption of the 2% yearly increases are at the discretion of the CCSD board based on Water Department fiscal health.
The CCSD has scheduled a follow-up public hearing at the Community Center at 12:30 (after Coffee at The Center) on Saturday, April 18, 2026, where attendees may ask questions and express concerns. If you wish to protest the increase, within 46 days of this letter please send your objections in writing to the following address: Camptonville Community Service District Board, PO Box 327, Camptonville, CA 95922.
A special CCSD meeting will be held in approximately 46 days from the date of this notice, where the board will review any protests received. If fewer than 50% +1 of the customers are in opposition, then the board may enact the increase with a resolution, with the new rates to start at the beginning of the next monthly billing cycle.
